Adult Program (2 positions)

Qualifications:

First Aid and CPR certification is required.

Duties:

Responsible for creating recreation and activities and promoting adult engagement at the camp. Activities/customer touchpoints include laser tag, escape rooms, sports tournaments, and other camp activities. The ability to communicate with adults and adjust to enhance the guest experience is necessary. On Sundays program time is required from 3:00- 5:00 p.m.

This position is a wonderful introduction to the hospitality and outdoor recreation industry and Aspen Grove is willing to make it an internship upon request.

Characteristics:

The Adult Program counselor should be personable, friendly, loving, creative energetic, flexible, outgoing, prompt, dependable, a good example to guests and fellow staff, and be willing to go the extra mile.

Age Group Counselors (22 positions)

Age Group Counselors (2 positions for each age group)

Qualifications:

First Aid and CPT certification is required.

Duties:

Program counselors develop and implement quality and meaningful programs for children of all ages. Activities are intentionally programmed to increase engagement among group participants using the design thinking process.

Counselors intentionally co-create experiences through planning activities to enhance diversity and inclusion for their age group from 9:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Wednesday activities scheduled are from 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Counselors will also work Sundays for 2 hours every other week and plan quiet uplifting activities for Sunday afternoons.

You will be expected to work 35 - 40 hours depending on the week, work 2 nights each week, and help turnover camp by cleaning 5 hours on Fridays.

Counselor activities include swimming, hiking, outdoor games, storytelling, arts & crafts projects, themed activities and other age-appropriate activities. Counselors will also teach children choreography to a song for the Closing Show. Counselors need to have high standards and be good role models for children.

Characteristics:

Children Program counselors should be personable, patient, kind, friendly, loving, energetic, flexible, outgoing, prompt, dependable, good examples, and willing to go the extra mile. Experience in programming recreational and educational activities for children is preferred. Prior camp counselor experience is helpful.

Counselors are held to these expectations, which include…showing up on time to each shift, swimming in the pool every day with your group, participate and provide engaging experiences during all program time, being patient with all kids, attending all training and weekly in-service training, respect and listen to supervisors and manager, willing to communicate in any instance, dance with your kids and guests during the opening show, teen and puma counselors will run night games weekly, be in a swimsuit for water frolics, and dress up for frontier night/day.

Romper Programs (8 positions)

Qualifications:

First Aid and CPR certification and a Utah County food handler's permit are required.

Duties:

Romper program counselors implement quality programs for children 0-2 years old. Counselors schedule activities from 9:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Wednesday activities are scheduled from 9;15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Counselors will also work Sundays from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Staff are responsible for changing diapers, telling stories, organizing outdoor activities, managing naptime, and engaging in meaningful play with the children. Counselors should plan quiet and uplifting activities for Sunday afternoon. Romper program counselors need to have high standards and be good role models for children.

Characteristics:

Romper counselors need to be patient, loving, creative, team players, and prompt. Previous experience working with young children and infants is preferred. Babysitting experience in caring for infants is helpful.
