Dining Hall Coordinator (2 positions)

Qualifications:

A Utah County food handler's permit is required.

Duties:

The Dining Hall Coordinator is responsible for supervising food service staff in maintaining the dining hall and dishroom operations. He/she should have a pleasant personality and the ability to work with people in stressful situations. The Dining Hall Coordinator must have excellent public relation skills, and be willing to enforce policies and procedures. Experience in food service and/or directing student peers is helpful. Sunday work is required.

Characteristics:

The Dining Hall Coordinator must be able to take direction well and act quickly. He/she must be confident in directing, encouraging, and motivating a large team of peers. Dining Hall Coordinators need strong people skills in order to direct and interact with others. He/she must be patient and calm, especially when confronted. The Coordinator should be able to perceive in advance the needs of the dining hall operation.

Dining Hall Staff (13 positions)

Qualifications:

A Utah County food handler's permit is required.

Duties:

Dining Hall staff are responsible for the care of the dining hall, including stocking buffets, running and maintaining the dish machine, washing pots, pans, and heavy cooking utensils, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors and decks, and emptying garbage. Sunday work is required.

Characteristics:

Dining Hall staff need to be able to work well with the public, and be personable and cheerful at all times. They should be self-starters, punctual, able to get up early, task-oriented, able to work as a team player, always willing to pull their share, willing to work until everyone is done, and be able to work quickly. They must be flexible and willing to work when needed.
