Ropes Course (4 Positions)

Qualifications

First Aid & CPR Required

Duties

Aspen Grove Ropes Course staff are responsible for directing the activities at the ropes course in a safe and competent manner. Experience with recreational activities and a knowledge of high adventure programming is beneficial but not required. These positions will help guests with rappelling and/or rock climbing and will perform these activities on a regular basis. Ropes Course staff will work out in the sun for long hours. This position is also part of the program team and will assist as needed as a program counselor for age groups, in camp wide activities such as Frontier night, Aspen Follies, and Water Frolics, and with work projects for programs. Ability to work with guests in a positive way in different situations is require

Characteristics

Ropes Course staff need to be personable, patient, calm, decisive, safe, have an ability to help people through difficult situations, and be willing to enforce all policies and procedures.

Range Master (1 Position)

Qualifications

First Aid & CPR Required

Duties

Responsible for the archery and rifle range including all maintenance of arrows, bows, rifles, targets, canopy, stands, inventory, and cleanness of the range. Previous knowledge in shooting sports helpful. Able to work with all ages from children to adults and comfortable giving instructions to all ages. Ability to give instructions and work with guests in a patient and positive way.

Lifeguard (4 Positions)

Qualifications

Lifeguards must have a current certificate from the Red Cross in Lifeguard Training. A year of guard experience is preferred.

Duties

Responsible for maintenance and cleanliness of pool and shower room areas. Responsible for teaching water aerobics to youth and adults, and lifeguarding for the safety of all campers. Lifeguarding hours will include some early mornings and some evenings. Lifeguards may be asked to help with age group needs at time including being a counselor or working a camp wide activity. Two lifeguard positions will work as a lifeguard and/or on the ropes course and with our adult programing.
